What a weird game...

I don't know if it was just the weather or what, but last nights game was weird! Sure we lost, but I think it was closer than the final score (14-2) let on. Who would have thought not having the orange and the light (in weight, not in color) blue bat would have handcuffed us like that. I think we put some good swings on the ball despite the wind, replace those bats (Dave and my $20 Target bats) with the missing ones and we would have scored at least 3-4 more runs.

On the positive side, Paul and Rachel performed admirably on the left side of the infield, Mr. J somehow managed to throw strikes even with those heavy wind gusts. My favorite moment of the night however was when the ump (out loud mind you) said he was wrong when he called Pete out on the trapped flyball rather than giving him the double he deserved (I'm fairly certain it was Pete, but I don't have the book in front of me).

Oh well, so the game goes...

  1. It was a fun game, despite the weather. Thanks for the shout out dude.

  2. Yes, but at least he evened it up by calling us safe on that tag out in the next inning. He was decent like that. He was a nice ump to chat with behind the plate.

  3. And my favorite moment was when Deb told me that she and the ump decided it was Paul's fault that I missed that catch at 2nd...

  4. I'll be ready for warmer games, though... Paul was awesome at short, and I appreciate the help from the two Daves and Pete in throwing balls from the outfield...
